The weekend was approaching fast
'Got to get a date.'
Never has a weekend passed by without a beautiful date. This time it
was a real beauty. It was after much effort that I managed to get her
to go out. My pleasure was in the envy of my colleagues and my boss.
We were scheduled to attend a friend's wedding where the entire office
staff was invited.
My Saturday morning started off on a disappointing note when I learnt
that she wouldn't be able to make it on account of her promise to date
another of my colleagues. A hard slap on my face, I somehow managed to
gear up my senses and started planning my next moves.
Suddenly a shriek caught my attention. A kid playing in our courtyard
had fallen off his bicycle and was crying out loud in pain. It looked
up at me and beckoned me to help him out. I waited for some time for
his parents to turn up, but nobody seemed to be around. The next thing
I knew was, him lying on my sofa chatting away happily with me. For a
brief period of time, all my problems were like an illusion while the
innocence in me struggled to match that of the little boy.
Eventually, I realized that his parents were out and after having dressed
up his wounds, I couldn't possibly leave him alone. I itched to think
of him in agony and all alone waiting for the arrival of his parents.
As my mind experienced a conflict of my emotions, a beautiful brainwave
eased the way out for relief to enter my pressurized nerves.
I decided to date my new friend for a change. The little boy, my best
buddy for the moment also seemed just too happy with the idea of spending
the entire evening with me.
The date was the best ever and the most unforgettable in my entire life.
He proved to be a charm in the party and a constant delight. A chance
encounter changed my entire day and possibly my outlook towards life!
