well worth buying |
I have owned a Kodak Digital Camera for six months now and when I bought it I also bought the docking station. At the time I was unsure whether it was a necessary buy.I now think that it was. The docking station makes the camera an excellent buy. It recharges the battery thereby lowering the running costs of the camera considerably. I recently used the camera for 5 days and took 80 pictures(using a multimedia card, another useful accessory) and didnt have to recharge the camera once, ok I did have liveview(when you can see the pictures on the back of the camera )turned off but you can see its uses...You can also upload the pictures onto your PC with ease using the docking station. You literally just place the camera onto the dock and press a button... the dock does all of the work... and because its permanently attached to your PC its really easy to use...ok so I like the dock, do you absolutely need it? NO... you could buy a cheap battery charger and upload the pictures using cables... but the dock just makes life easier so if you have got the cash I would recommend it...I was a first time digital camera user and Im naturally really lazy and the dock just makes the system really really easy to use... so you decide which you want but I think the dock is a superb accessory.. so Kodak listen and sell the dock at a reduced price when people buy the camera...by the way Amazon sems to be the cheapest place to buy it, I checked in stores and online before I bought the entire Kodak system from them.. oh and I think the software provided by Kodak is great...

worth it if you have spare cash |
I bought the docking station to recharge my kodak digital camera (facility you would expect to have included with the camera!). Really found the one step transfer easy but USB lead will do the same. Fantastic for constant recharging as i just pop it onto the dock every evening and its always ready. However, be aware that some of the batteries are useless. They wont hold their charge for more than 20 pics and the batteries run down even when the camera is off. i thought my camera had broken so contacted kodak (who were very helpful, they sent me a new battery and it is perfect. Can take more than 100 pics, use LCD and still keep going! If you buy an extra battery you shouldnt have any problems on holiday.

A Must for all Kodak camera owners |
This is quite simply a must for Kodak camera owners. For a little more than the price you pay for a battery charger and batteries you can have a Kodak Dock V2. This is a charger, complete with 2 NiMH batteries, which can transfer pictures with one touch of a button whilst also charging your batteries. The other useful point is that it can be left in the dock to keep it safe, as well as fully charged and ready for use! The advantages over the Dock V1 is a smaller size, with a non-slip base, as well as more advanced charging system that charges fully drained batteries the first time, the older model required you to take the camera out of the dock and then replace it to top the battery fully! All this and £5 cheaper than the Dock V1.
